Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica -  Arrival at the San Jose International Airport where you will be met by our Tour Guide as you step off your plane. You will be taken to the Hotel Best Western Downtown where you will have the rest of day at your leisure to enjoy of the Hotel`s pool and other amenities.  A tour in the evening will take you out to experience the rich Gay Night Life that San Jose City has to offer. 

 

If you wish, it is possible to upgrade to a more luxurious hotel in Downtown San Jose for an additional cost.

Day 2 - tortuguero canals ( B, L, D )  After Breakfast, you will travel with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air conditioned bus, driving through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you will have the opportunity to see beautiful views and abundant rain forest vegetation. On the way we will stop for breakfast at a typical Costa Rican Restaurant. After breakfast the trip will continue to either Caño Blaco or Pavona harbors, passing banana plantations on the way.

At Caño Blanco or La Pavona, a covered boat will be waiting to take you to the Hotel Laguna Lodge, or Ilan-Ilan Lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals, and arriving between 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  At the lodge, the staff will greet you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon’s activities. Included in the activities after lunch is a visit to the Turtle Museum of the Caribbean Conservation Corporation, and a stop in the colorful Tortuguero town.


You will return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. and have free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for your dinner.  Dinner is served at the hotel`s restaurant from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and the rest of the night will be at your leisure to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.

Cuadro de texto: Day 3 - SAN JOSE CITY ( B, L ) After breakfast, we will begin the trip back to San Jose around 9:00 a.m. The boat arrives at Caño Blanco or La Pavona around 11:00 a.m. where our bus will be waiting for the drive back to San Jose.  There is a stop en route for lunch at a typical Costa Rican restaurant. You will arrive back at the Best Western Downtown around 4:00 p.m. and will have the rest of day at your leisure to relax and enjoy the Hotel facilities.  Another guided Tour at night is provided for exploring some more of the rich gay night life of San Jose City. Day 4 - Arenal Volcano ( B, L, D ) After breakfast, you will be transported by shuttle bus to the beautiful town of La Fortuna, where the impressive active Arenal Volcano is located. On the way, you will enjoy a “full adrenaline rafting trip” at the Class II, III and IV rapids on the Balsa or Toro Rivers. You will have professional raft guides; and all necessary equipment is provided.  A fresh fruit break; and a delicious lunch is included in this tour. All of your luggage is guaranteed to be safe. At 4 pm you will check in at Hotel Arenal Paraiso Resort in a comfortable room with a queen bed, bathroom with hot water, a hair dryer, A/C, Cable TV, and wi-fi internet. The hotel also offers awesome views of the Volcano, acres of tropical gardens, and a fully equipped massage parlor and a spa. A Buffet dinner served in Hotel`s Restaurant is included in the package. Sunset Sailing on Manuel Antonio Bay

Day 5 - ARENAL VOLCANO ( B, D ) After breakfast, you may enjoy an exciting two and a half hour tree top Canopy tour, “or” a horseback riding tour along the slopes of the Arenal volcano. And afterward you will have the rest of day at your leisure to enjoy of the warm  and relaxing waters of the Hot Springs Complex, or make use of the other amenities of the hotel. A Buffet dinner served in the Hotel`s restaurant is included this evening. However, lunch is on your own.


Day 6 - MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST ( B ) After Breakfast, you will be transported by van to Lake Arenal. Beautiful panoramic views of the lake and the Arenal volcano are here for your pleasure. After crossing the lake by boat, you will go by van to downtown Monteverde and check in at Hotel El Viandante which is just a 10 minute walk from the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve.  Hotel El Viandante is a clean and cheerful, and a bright and friendly place, where you will find the staff both helpful and pleasant. 

One of the unique on-site services that El Viandante offers its guests is Mountain Bike Rentals, Bike Tours and Guides for those with an adventuresome spirit.

 

If you wish, it is possible to upgrade to a more luxurious hotel in Monteverde for an additional cost.

In this world famous cloud forest reserve of Monteverde you will have a bilingual naturalist guide for the 3.5 Kilometer trail. The cost for the transportation, and the  entrance fee to the reserve is included in the package. Lunch and dinner are on your own at any of the many restaurants located a short walking distance from the hotel.

Day 7 - MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH ( B ) After Breakfast, you will be transported by Shuttle to the world famous Manuel Antonio Beach, on the Costa Rican Central Pacific coast. Check in at Hotel Casa Blanca or Hotel Villa Roca with leisure time to enjoy the hotel's facilities. Or, you can explore the stunning coastline of Manuel Antonio by taking a walk on its white sandy beaches. Another option is to explore it while horseback riding.  You may swim in the ocean, or soak up the sun while relaxing on the beach. You also can take a hiking trail to view the beautiful rain forest or just hang out with friends over drinks. In the late afternoon you won’t want to miss the beauty of sun setting on the horizon of the waters of Manuel Antonio Bay.

In the evening, dinner is on your own in one of the many restaurants in town and you may spend the rest of the evening exploring the gay nightlife of Manuel Antonio.

 

Day 8 - MANUEL ANTONIO BEACH ( B ) After breakfast, you have free time for rest and relaxation at the hotel, or explore the beaches of Manuel Antonio. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

 

Sea kayaking, horseback riding or ATV rides in the rainforest, scuba diving around Caño Island or Drake Bay, Canopy ride over waterfalls, and visits to national parks, are only a few of the activities available in this area. Ask us for a full description of tours and prices, if you are interested in including any of them in the itinerary for this day.

We will take you through nature trails to see the flora and fauna including monkeys, sloths and many species of birds in the impressive Rainforest. You will have leisure time to take a swim in the pristine waters or tan in the sun on the White Sand Beaches of the Park.  At 2:00 p.m., after a lunch on your own, you will have fun on a Dolphin and Whale Watching Tour in Manuel Antonio Bay.  You may also do some snorkeling on the reefs, and treat yourself to another gorgeous sunset in Manuel Antonio Bay. In the evening you will have leisure time to enjoy the hotel facilities, and/or have a night out on the town. Dinner is on your own. Day 10 ( B ) After Breakfast, you will be transported by a shuttle bus to the San Jose or Liberia International Airport for your Return Flight.
