Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1 - Welcome to Costa Rica ( D ) Arrival to SJO International Airport. Meet and Greet by our Tour Guide. Land Transfer to the Arenal Paraiso Mountain Resort & Spa with the rest of day at leisure for explore the breath-taking property, take a bath on the Hot Springs, enjoy of the Canopy Tour and make use of the other Hotel facilities. At night, Buffet Dinner in the Restaurant of Hotel. Arenal Paraiso offers 89  bungalows, each one have two double beds, a private bathroom, hot water, refrigerator, air conditioner and a big balcony. The deluxe room, where you are going to be accommodate, also offers  telephone and Cable TV, and of course, the best view to the Arenal Volcano. Other Hotel facilities are Restaurant, Hiking Trails, a nice  Waterfall., Canopy  tour, great gardens and landscape, 3 swimming pools  ( 2 with thermal water, and 1 regular water), Wet bar, Spa, souvenir shop, Laundry, and  Conference room.     


Day 2 - LA FORTUNA ( B, L, D ) After breakfast, departure to Caño Negro Wild Life Refuge located near to Nicaragua`s Border. Trip starts with a 1 1/2 hours land transfer on hills of San Carlos Valley, toward the town of Los Chiles. Along the route, you will see and enjoy of the exuberant nature and picturesque towns surround this area. At Los Chiles, you will aboard a comfortable boat that take you on the calm waters of Rio Frio to Caño Negro Refuge. Both at boat trip and Caño Negro Refuge you will have the chance to see a big diversity of fauna including Sluts, 3 type of monkeys, bats, crocodiles and more. Our Tour Guide will provide full information of the native species and the ecosystem. At margin of the river, you will enjoy of a delicious Typical Lunch. You will return at La Fortuna, around 16.00. After tour, free time at leisure for relaxing and make use of the Hotel facilities.  Dinner by your own.


Day 3 - LA FORTUNA ( B, L ) After breakfast, free time at leisure for explore the breath-taking property, take a bath in the Hot Springs or make use of the other Hotel amenities. Around 10:30, you will be part of the exciting Canopy Tour operates by the Hotel. This tour is a combination of adventure and direct contact with the nature, and you will admire all the different flora and fauna of area including monkeys, birds, and many other attractions.


Expert guides and the best equipment take you tree to tree on eleven platforms , cables from 90 meters high and 300 meters large  approx.


The trip finish with a great view of the Rainy Forest and next to  El Congo Waterfall. Then we will return to the hotel in a nice trip through the mountain.  After Canopy, free time for lunch and relaxing. At 17:00, a deluxe van will pick you up and take you to the World Famous Arenal Hanging Bridges. This is the only Hanging Bridges project with panoramic view to an Active Volcano. You ll have the opportunity to see the colored lava descending from Volcano`s crater while you being at the top of a big Rainy Forest Tree. We guarantee you a very majestic and unforgettable experience. Also you ll have the chance to admire a big diversity of fauna including birds, mammalians and reptiles. You are going to experience the " Noisy Silent " of Forest. Around 21:00, you will be back at Hotel with the rest of night at leisure for relaxing and make use of the Hotel amenities. Dinner by your own.

   

Day 4 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, private transfer to Playa Manuel Antonio by Deluxe Van. Trip takes around 4 1/2 hours and in the route you may admire the many nature attractions and picturesque towns located throughout the way. At Manuel Antonio, you will be accommodate in Hotel California with the rest of day at leisure for exploring the property and make use of Hotel facilities.  Hotel California is located at 15 minutes walking from National Park and offers 12 Deluxe Rooms with  Queen size beds, balcony and great ocean view. And 10 Standard Rooms with Queen size beds or Queen and Twin bed and garden view. The 22 rooms are equipped with  A/C, cable TV, private bathroom with hot water, mini-bars, telephone, and security box. Hotel also offers 1 Typical Restaurant, 1 International Cuisine Restaurant, Bar, Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, Laundry and Room Service. Lunch & Dinner by your own.


Day 5 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, guided walking to the World Famous Manuel Antonio National Park. The pace of this adventure is determined by your abilities and interests, and the abundance of wildlife you want to stop and observe (and learn about) - all in its natural and breathtaking habitat. Watch sluts and numerous species of monkeys travel through the tree canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and several types of non-poisonous snakes resting in the tropical rain forest, and listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide above you. See how many different kinds of flora and fauna you can spot just in the span of a 2 ½ hour nature walk or hike.  And whenever you are ready, stop and enjoy some local fresh fruits and refreshments as you pause to savor your adventure thus far.  If you so desire, hike additionally through the trails and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches after your guided educational adventure ends.  Learn about the history of the Quepoa Indians and Costa Rica's past in regard to this stunningly beautiful Manuel Antonio area. After tour, free time for lunch at any of the many local restaurants. At 14:00, start your second tour of day, the Dolphin Watching Tour. Glide through crystal clear waters, marvel at unspoiled beaches by Manuel Antonio, and explore mysterious islands that lie just offshore the coast.  Where jagged rock formations and towering cliffs host numerous varieties of nesting marine birds and their young, watch spotted dolphins native to these warm coastal waters frolic and jump in your boat's wake as you pass giant sea turtles and observe migrating humpback whales.


After feasting your senses and enjoying the tranquility of sailing these pristine waters, the boat glides into a beautiful, protected bay so you can swim under the cover of our tropical jungle.  Snorkel along the coral reefs near the gentle coastline, and let your bilingual guides and naturalists help you discover our fascinating underwater domain, or rather, our underwater Costa Rican playground of tropical fish and exotic marine life.  But don't worry, this adventure has its "perks", too.  As you frolic and enjoy the secluded bay and romantic scenery, the crew will prepare local savory appetizers and snacks made of fresh local produce and tropical fruits, and will include a selection of refreshments as well.


To end with tour, you will witness one of our unforgettable Costa Rican sunsets in offshore tropical serenity as you sit back, relax and enjoy another close to a beautiful day in our tropical paradise. After tour, evening at leisure for make use of Hotel facilities. Lunch and Dinner by your own.


Day 6 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, departure to the area of Savegre River, to live an exciting, family-friendly, full-day white water river rafting adventure with lots of "perks".


Starting with a 4x4 ride into the "wilds" of Costa Rica's tropical jungle with breathtaking scenery of more remote areas of the Savegre, your journey begins at "El Silencio".  This is a little local village of thatched roof dwellings where you can enjoy a typical Tico breakfast after a "bumpy road" journey, yet before you paddle down the Savegre.  Make sure you make your reservations for lunch, and don't forget to meander through the beautiful flora and fauna of the surrounding African Palm Plantations before you head off into the winding mountains to start the rafting leg of your journey.


The Savegre River provides Class II, III and IV rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts that accommodate 2 to 6 people comfortably.  Trip includes stops at locally known swimming spots and breathtaking water falls, if the rafters want a break from paddling, and there is always time to enjoy the abundant variety of wildlife along the river.  On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the primary tropical rain forest.  After a steady 13 mile trip down the river, we wind our way back to the little village of "El Silencio" where a gladly awaited hot lunch (Tico style) and local refreshments are waiting.  Once fed, happy and well-traveled, our now experienced Savegre River rafters spend a leisurely trip home driving back to Manuel Antonio. This tour includes transportation, breakfast and lunch, bilingual guides, safety kayakers, equipment, security, snacks, and drinks. After tour, evening at leisure for make use of Hotel facilities. Lunch and Dinner by your own.


Day 7 - MANUEL ANTONIO ( B ) After Breakfast, we will introduce you to Don Gilberto and his family whom show you the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica - on horseback! Once they pick you up the adventure in history, beauty and nature begins, as you learn first hand about Costa Rica's exotic plants and bio-diverse wildlife while you ride through the tropical jungle and head towards our world-class beaches - just minutes away from Manuel Antonio.


After a relaxing ride on horseback along the warm Pacific Ocean - with the pace determined by your comfort level and riding ability - stop and enjoy our country as Don Gilberto or his daughter Dyala guide you through the exotic plant and animal life on a short nature walk.  They will let you taste, smell, touch and observe first hand the real Costa Rica.


After indulging your mind and spirit with expert knowledge, take a refreshing dip in the warm ocean waters.  Yet don´t forget to enjoy more of the tastes and flavors of Costa Rica as you sample delicious delicacies of the tropical rain forest and of our fresh, local Costa Rican produce.  If you all are lucky you will be able to enjoy an unforgettable taste of local fresh fruits and a special homemade tropical drink made exclusively by Doña Eli, Don Gilberto´s wife, all while you relax and cool off. 


After being refreshed, ride again along the meandering sandy beach framed by the tropical rain forest and mangrove eco-system, enjoy one last relaxing experience enjoying the bounty of Costa Rica before returning to your Hotel. After tour, rest of day at leisure to make use of Hotel facilities. Lunch and Dinner by your own.


DAY 8 ( B ) After Breakfast, land transfer to SJO Airport for your return flight. Transfer by Air available upon request.
